Tune Town's Final Hurrah...
Wrapping up this newsletter with a few notes to my readers.
Hello and goodbye to you tune town :(
Unfortunately, this post marks the end of tune town's short journey on Substack. So, let’s sit down and chat about it! I promise you there will be no sappiness…
[ Some final notes from the writer ]
- I have to admit it was difficult keeping this newsletter consistent every week. However, I’m still very grateful for having a platform to share my thoughts about today’s evolving music world! I enjoyed talking about the complexities of different music genres and aesthetics that will live on forever. Music is a form of self-expression and many communities find home within certain genres.
Let’s go into a time capsule! One of my favorite moments was giving you guys a brief synopsis on my favorite genres, hyperpop and bedroom pop. I feel like they clash with Gen Z so well because they have evolved into genreless genres.
So let’s keep this conversation going and check out these interesting articles!
Exploring the Trans Roots of Hyperpop
What is hyperpop’s purpose and who really pioneered it? This article goes into depth about what hyper pop truly means to the queer community. Non-binary and trans artists are pushing forward with diversifying the sound.

Modulation & the Chaos-Trans Voice
Check out auto-tune, the music technology that revolutionized pop music! I find this analysis so interesting because it goes into the history of queering the auto-tune software. Hyper pop artists now use this software as a writing tool and a guide vocal to express themselves.
Bedroom Pop and the Rise of the DIY Artist
I couldn’t forget about the bedroom pop genre and what it means to be DIY in today’s music realm. Bedroom pop proves to people that you don’t need studio equipment worth thousands of dollars to make high-quality music - it’s just skill.

Thank you so much for visiting tune town!!
And I guess this is our last goodbye…unless?
